On our travels to Thailand we discovered some amazing wood carvings. Knowing that many interior designers are recommending and searching for unique Asian art and accents to enhance interior home or office spaces, we commissioned our woodshop in Thailand to create several unique accent pieces for our customers.

For centuries teak wood flooring has been prized for its Asian art design and for its long-lasting durability. Because this is still true today, AmegaWood, Ltd was created to allow us to be the best outdoor flooring supplier of the finest teak wood flooring to online buyers.

Environmentally Sensitive Our Teak isn’t from the rainforest. It is from a certified Teak Plantation. In Thailand the government manages the Teak Plantations to ensure that they do not harm the rainforests. The main reason why we get our Teak wood from Plantations instead of the rainforest is because we are extremely concerned about the environment, especially the current rainforest situation. Rainforests are being destroyed at an alarming rate of over 494 million acres per year. Plantation Teak is the best for the “green” buyer. Teak wood outlasts other materials. Some have reported that teak wood that is kept outdoors will last a minimum of 75 years. Teak has been used in construction of buildings and temples. Used in those applications, the teak withstands centuries of use and continues to withstand the outdoor elements.

Teak tiles, even after it has been outside for years, is not only going to be just as strong as any other hardwood floor but it can also be restored to its original golden color with the application of a cleaner and followed with a sealer. While some admirers may enjoy the sun bleached patina of teak tiles after it has been allowed to weather out of doors, some would prefer to see their teak tiles shine the way it was originally received from our warehouse. Either choice is possible when the outdoor flooring is made of teak.

Teak flooring is often chosen because of its durability and low maintenance. Teak wood flooring is well suited to outdoor applications because the teak oil in the wood, even after it is dried and made into furniture, protects the hardwood flooring for years and years. Teak does not splinter and will not rot keeping that Asian art style flare intact. In addition, teak can be either allowed to weather to a grey patina finish or it can be sealed where the natural hardwood flooring color and grain will be seen for years to come. It is purely a design decision by the discriminating owner.

Teak flooring tiles are high quality Asian art, outdoor flooring for your patio or deck. This is great for poolside flooring, deck flooring, and patio flooring. It is also great for wet spaces. The teak floor tiles snap together. There are plastic tubes underneath each tile touching the ground. All pieces are crafted in Thailand by highly qualified workers. The teak flooring tiles don't have a finish on them so you could add your own or let it get weathered.
